Cooking Up Some Ass Kicking! November 4, 2008

Halloween.  The time of year that every kid gets excited for all the candy and their respective dentists look forward to the impending cavities.  Since I live in a real neighborhood now with actual houses, this was the first year that I handed out candy at the door.  Not the cheap crap either; I only gave candy that had high trade value.  I was actually surprised at the number of trick-or-treaters that came to the door Friday night - we ran out of candy about half an hour before the official ”end” and, thanks to my roommate’s secret stash of peanut butter cups, we were able to avoid the riot beginning to develop on the doorstep.

Yes, I dressed up for Halloween.  It wouldn’t be Halloween without a good costume party.  I must say, this yeah, I was extremely impressed and excited about my costume.  A joint effort in creation between me and my roommate, my costume was “The Iron Chef.”

An Iron Man suit, chef’s hat and apron, spatula and oven mitt was all it took to create this masterpiece of ingenuity.

I ventured out to downtown Orlando Friday night to check out the festivities.  It was packed – meaning it took 45 minutes to find parking, 20 minutes to get a beer anywhere, and was shoulder-to-shoulder packed everywhere we went.  I had an alright time.  Saturday I drove over to Melbourne and Palm Bay to party with my roommate for both Halloween and her birthday.  Aside from the eventual downpour later that night, it was a pretty fun time.  Plus there were loads of great costumes.

Next Halloween I think I’m going to finally go as the travelocity gnome.  We’ll see…
